About Willow Interiors

A conversation with our editorial team

We often receive messages from readers who want to know more about the people behind Willow Interiors. Instead of writing a traditional About page, we decided to answer the most common questions directly.

What exactly is Willow Interiors?

Willow Interiors is a curated gallery of home inspiration. We collect and share images of interiors that feel airy, organic, and effortlessly beautiful. Think of us as a visual journal — a place to slow down, scroll, and let your mind wander through spaces that feel like a deep breath.

Who runs this blog?

We are a small, distributed team. Some of us come from creative professions — photography, styling, publishing. Others simply have a lifelong love of beautiful interiors. None of us are famous designers or influencers, and that is intentional. We prefer to stay behind the scenes and let the imagery speak.

Why don’t you use names or faces?

Because we believe the focus should be on the spaces we feature, not on the individuals who selected them. We are curators, not protagonists. The moment a face or a name enters the frame, the dynamic shifts. We would rather you lose yourself in a room than wonder about the person who chose it.

How do you choose which images to publish?

We look for three things:

  • Light. Does the space feel luminous, open, alive? Natural light is often the difference between a room that looks staged and one that feels real.
  • Texture. Are there materials that invite touch — rough stone, soft linen, worn wood, a slubby rug?
  • Calm. Does the image quiet the mind? We are drawn to interiors that feel restorative, never chaotic.

If an image meets these criteria, it has a home here.

Do you follow design trends?

Not really. Trends come and go. We are more interested in spaces that feel timeless — rooms that would look just as beautiful ten years from now as they do today. That said, we pay attention to what is happening in the design world. We simply filter it through our own lens.

Where do you find your images?

Everywhere. Some come from architecture and design publications. Others from photographers whose work we admire. Many are submitted by readers who want to share their own homes. We are endlessly grateful for these submissions — they often turn out to be the most inspiring.

Is this your full-time job?

For some of us, yes. For others, this is a passion project that fits alongside other work. What unites us is not a job title, but a genuine obsession with spaces that feel good to be in.

What do you hope visitors take away?

A sense of possibility. We want you to leave Willow Interiors feeling that a beautiful home is within reach — not something reserved for magazines or wealthy homeowners. Beauty lives in the light through a window, the patina on an old table, the way a chair is positioned just so. It is everywhere, once you start looking.

Thank you for your curiosity. If you have other questions, we would love to hear from you.
